Cmdop joins Cloudflare for Startups
Cmdop is now part of Cloudflare for Startups. The practical effect is on the part of Cmdop you touch first: getting the software onto your machines.
Installing Cmdop means pulling down one binary, and every update means pulling it again. That download is served from Cloudflare’s edge, so it comes from somewhere near you rather than from a single machine on the other side of the world. The same applies to the relay layer your machines connect through.
This is the unglamorous half of the product, and it is the half you feel every time you add a machine. A control plane that is one executable only stays simple if delivering that executable is fast everywhere — in Jakarta as much as in Frankfurt.
Nothing about how you run Cmdop changes. The install command is the same, the binary is the same, and it keeps arriving quicker as we grow.
